About
My love for creating new flavors in the kitchen started young—right at the breakfast table. Growing up in a big family, there were always 3 or 4 different drinks to choose from, with seasonal variations throughout the year. I loved experimenting with combinations—some flops (like the time I mixed fresh orange juice with milk), and others unexpectedly amazing (hello, blueberry-orange juice!).
I also love thrift shopping—so if I ever recommend a kitchen utensil or tool, you can trust it’s been thoroughly researched (probably too thoroughly!) and truly worth your investment. Many of my favorite tools come from secondhand stores. In fact, my go-to roasting pan cost me just 25 cents! Reduce, reuse, recycle—especially in the kitchen.
I come from a long line of great home cooks and have had the privilege of tasting authentic cuisines prepared by native chefs and family members. Some nights, I throw together the fastest hot dogs I can find. Other nights, I take joy in fine-tuning something like a pineapple mango salsa to rest just right on a piece of blackened salmon.
Over the past 13 years, I’ve developed a deep passion for learning how food affects our bodies. That curiosity completely changed my life. I used to be sick on the floor almost every week, exhausted and run down. Now, through trial, research, and intentional food choices, I have more energy than I ever imagined. My kitchen has become both a place of comfort and a place of healing—and I love sharing what I’ve learned with others who are also on their own health journey.
